00:00:00.049 --> 00:00:05.028
Welcome to the Bearded Mystic Podcast, where we are waking and growing in oneness.

00:00:05.328 --> 00:00:08.179
And I'm your host Rahul N Singh.

00:00:08.570 --> 00:00:13.669
I've been a spiritual seeker for over 20 years with a deep interest in non-duality.

00:00:14.074 --> 00:00:15.843
Thank you for joining today.

00:00:16.390 --> 00:00:23.780
Today, I'm going to talk about something that is very close to my heart and a topic that is my favourite too.

00:00:24.390 --> 00:00:35.710
From a very young age, I have heard these words many times and it created a curiosity within me that will pave a path that I can never turn my back on.

00:00:36.159 --> 00:00:40.856
A desire was born that put all my other desires on the back burner.

00:00:41.079 --> 00:00:43.097
Those words were Brahm Gyana.

00:00:43.523 --> 00:00:49.313
Brahm Gyana is the knowledge of Brahman that leads you to self realization.

00:00:49.673 --> 00:00:55.042
It is the insights into Brahman or what I refer to as formless consciousness.

00:00:55.732 --> 00:01:05.462
This divine knowledge gives you the tools to listen, to reflect and then meditate on this Nirankar, the Formless in every moment.

00:01:05.578 --> 00:01:10.888
This divine knowledge has been eternal and directly shows us the infinite.

00:01:11.358 --> 00:01:20.748
The only thing we have to do is make sure the mind can recognize it, realize it, and be it, as this is the main purpose of life.

00:01:21.239 --> 00:01:37.090
This is through the guidance of the Guru that we discover this ultimate reality that has been hiding in plain sight, which is the open secret and only a few ever realize it as their own true nature.

00:01:37.760 --> 00:01:48.370
I've been a follower of the Sant Nirankari Mission all of my life and my grandfather was one of the first disciples back in the late 1920s.

00:01:48.859 --> 00:01:55.040
So I've been fortunate to have been brought up in a household that had access to this Brahm Gyana.

00:01:55.620 --> 00:02:04.864
I may have been around 11 years old when I received this Brahm Gyana, that very divine knowledge that transformed my grandfather's life.

00:02:05.031 --> 00:02:27.445
Unlike my grandfather, who understood what Nirankar, this Formless is, and experienced it, and connected with it from that very moment until his last breath, my relationship with the Brahm Gyana has been a different one but a gradual one, and one that maybe we can all relate to somewhat.

00:02:28.086 --> 00:02:37.885
Initially, when I was growing up, it was told that I would be able to see God, which, even for a kid's mind, to see God is pretty exciting and cool.

00:02:38.286 --> 00:02:42.395
Can you imagine I could go into my school classroom and say that I have seen God?

00:02:43.225 --> 00:02:44.925
I could declare it to the world.

00:02:45.325 --> 00:02:59.686
But that would be heavily naive of me and thankfully I never made such claims and saved myself from embarrassment as I went to a school that spoke of the Abrahamic description of God.

00:02:59.919 --> 00:03:06.750
But the question still remains, did I see God everywhere and all the time when I was 11 years old?

00:03:07.539 --> 00:03:08.960
No, not at all.

00:03:09.530 --> 00:03:15.650
In fact, what happened was a small glimpse and the ego caught it and you know what it does from there.

00:03:16.120 --> 00:03:20.810
Simply I set myself with a borrowed belief that I have seen God.

00:03:21.417 --> 00:03:33.447
Cutting a long story short, it was only until I was around 21 years old that I truly started to experience a life that I have never experienced before.

00:03:33.856 --> 00:03:38.917
A perception that was both human yet divine.

00:03:39.896 --> 00:03:55.676
All I can say is that from 21 years old to today, it is my guru's grace that this spiritual growth has only continued and has saved me from a very subtle ego that did creep in when I was 11 years old.

00:03:56.129 --> 00:04:02.419
This subtle ego was that even if I didn't see God, I didn't know about it intellectually.

00:04:02.780 --> 00:04:06.740
That feeling of attaining this knowledge created an ego in me.

00:04:07.080 --> 00:04:11.270
I felt better than those that followed other gurus and other religions.

00:04:11.770 --> 00:04:15.259
But this was not something that my Satguru ever taught.

00:04:15.680 --> 00:04:25.754
And that is why in my 20s, I had to empty myself of all previous knowledge, even of the Brahm Gyana to receive it once again.

00:04:25.925 --> 00:04:33.625
I prepared myself to have an empty mind and a mind with an intellect that was ready and primed for this realization.

00:04:34.064 --> 00:04:38.925
If it wasn't for my Satguru, this could have taken me a lifetime or even a few.

00:04:39.574 --> 00:04:44.605
But His one glance had my mind cleared of all misconceptions.

00:04:44.805 --> 00:04:53.175
So the moment I received Brahm Gyana at 24 years old again, it all made sense and I could experience oneness like never before.

00:04:53.495 --> 00:04:58.875
All that remained was Brahman and now my mind had to make sense of it.

00:04:59.654 --> 00:05:01.115
So, what is Brahm Gyana?

00:05:01.415 --> 00:05:02.865
What does it do for us?

00:05:03.199 --> 00:05:23.915
This Brahm Gyana shows us very directly, literally in a matter of seconds, the realisation of that Formless Consciousness that is all pervading, everywhere, and most of all within us and within every particle of this universe, manifest and unmanifest.

00:05:24.654 --> 00:05:26.954
Nirankar means formless.

00:05:27.105 --> 00:05:39.240
So the Brahm Gyana states that this Ultimate Reality that some called God and various other names is formless, imageless, boundless, shapeless, nameless, and so on.

00:05:40.079 --> 00:05:49.120
Growing up, I referred to God as Nirankar and even though it has no name, this name Nirankar always fills my heart with loving devotion.

00:05:49.610 --> 00:06:18.045
Today, I use the names like Nirankar or Formless or Consciousness and then sometimes Formless Awareness, Formless Consciousness and then on the occasion, God, depending on my mood or my interactions with others This brahm Gyana is a direct intuitive realization that there is nothing but this Formless Consciousness and listen carefully to this - the one that is aware of this formless is the formless itself.

00:06:18.425 --> 00:06:23.745
It is the formless that merges the apparent 'other' that it is observing.

00:06:24.105 --> 00:06:38.175
The jiva breaks free from the shackles of identification that is the body mind intellect and realizes its true nature as the Formless Nirankar, or that the jiva is actually the Atman and not the body mind intellect.

00:06:38.470 --> 00:06:47.160
This Brahm Gyana is not a knowledge that you remember like some textbook explanation or something that just remains as an intellectual understanding.

00:06:47.620 --> 00:06:51.500
It is very easy to fall into that trap of saying that.

00:06:51.805 --> 00:06:55.774
You know, I have seen God, but this would not be experiential knowledge.

00:06:56.035 --> 00:07:03.995
Brahm Gyana is when you are seeing God as your own true nature, not that you have seen God just out there.

00:07:04.589 --> 00:07:11.690
It is not of the past, but it is a moment to moment realisation, directly connected with in the present.

00:07:12.180 --> 00:07:18.310
In fact, in each moment of this realisation is truly an eternity experienced.

00:07:18.360 --> 00:07:28.398
This Brahm Gyana is not some knowledge that I go around with pride that I have realized God but my words are extremely shallow and the experience is oceanic deep.

00:07:28.798 --> 00:07:35.338
So literally all one has to do is connect with this Formless and one's being will naturally be speaking about this Formless.

00:07:35.778 --> 00:07:50.648
It is to be understood that yes, maybe others have not realized that they are this Formless Consciousness, maybe they've tied their consciousness to their body, mind, intellect, and therefore, Nirankar or God is still very separate to them.

00:07:50.648 --> 00:07:59.408
So what are the steps to realize this and on another occasion we can go into depth on these steps but let me give you a brief overview.

00:07:59.937 --> 00:08:05.677
The first step is to guide the seeker that the body and mind changes.

00:08:06.572 --> 00:08:20.043
But an awareness of the body and mind does not change, literally you can demonstrate this by saying look how we've grown from a 5 year old to a teenager and then to young adulthood to middle age and then eventually old age.

00:08:20.423 --> 00:08:28.033
The body has changed so much, yet the one that witnesses the changes of the body is not growing old, it's remaining the same.

00:08:28.392 --> 00:08:40.207
Even when my many thoughts, desires, emotions that have arisen and also settled in my mind, yet the witness does not arise nor settle regardless of those thoughts, emotions and desires.

00:08:40.577 --> 00:08:43.607
So we know that there is a witness within this body.

00:08:43.837 --> 00:08:49.717
The sages call this by many names from the Atman, even Jiva or mainly the Saksi.

00:08:50.748 --> 00:09:00.577
The second step is that one will say that there is pure formless consciousness, so god or Nirankar, and that you are a spark of it, you are a part of it.

00:09:01.207 --> 00:09:08.062
Then the seeker is intrigued and then you experience the direct revealing of one's true nature through Brahm Gyana.

00:09:08.111 --> 00:09:15.761
Then the third step is to highlight to the seeker that that part is none but the whole.

00:09:15.905 --> 00:09:27.619
Once they understand that the drop and the ocean are nothing but water, they realize that this individual soul or jiva or consciousness is nothing but God itself, Formless consciousness itself.

00:09:27.668 --> 00:09:32.849
This realisation is what the rishis have claimed as Aham Brahmasmi or I am Brahman.

00:09:33.408 --> 00:09:35.528
Tat Tvam Asi, You are That.

00:09:35.708 --> 00:09:44.186
Ayam Atma Brahma - This Atman is Brahman itself This Brahm Gyana has been in existence since eternity.

00:09:44.686 --> 00:09:50.655
It is truly sinan, and it is through the that this can be realized in a matter of seconds.

00:09:51.080 --> 00:10:03.014
Brahm Gyana is different in many ways to other spiritual teachings because it shows us exactly who we are, what we are, and it becomes an undeniable truth for us.

00:10:03.125 --> 00:10:14.331
Brahm Gyana is the highest knowledge, which has been spoken of in many scriptures, only a rare few have that desire built for such wisdom.

00:10:14.860 --> 00:10:20.530
This Brahm Gyana shows you directly that you are Nirankar, you are this Formless Consciousness.

00:10:20.870 --> 00:10:28.350
You have always been this, you will always be this, and you are this right now, right here, in this moment itself.

00:10:28.662 --> 00:10:35.211
Other spiritual teachings, despite how lofty they may be, will always bring us to this Ultimate Knowledge.

00:10:35.481 --> 00:10:38.032
And so, what are those other forms of knowledge?

00:10:38.552 --> 00:10:49.001
Well, whether it is through Gyana Yoga, which is the enquiry into your true nature as the Atman, or Bhakti Yog, which is devotion to Nirankar, both with form and formless.

00:10:49.302 --> 00:10:57.631
Or Raja Yoga or Sumiran which is mindful remembrance of the Formless, or even Karma Yog, which is selfless service to all living beings.

00:10:58.101 --> 00:11:12.091
All these spiritual teachings are important, but it is only through Brahm Gyana that one can free ourselves from the identification of body mind intellect and lead ourselves to Jivan Mukti, which is liberation whilst living.

00:11:12.251 --> 00:11:20.251
As I mentioned before, having a Satguru impart this Brahm Gyana to you is an essential part of the journey.

00:11:20.662 --> 00:11:40.312
This Satguru is the highest spiritual teacher, the Param Guru, who understands the essence of the scriptures, lives a noble life, and ultimately has the perpetual awareness of their true nature as Formless Consciousness, as Nirankar and therefore, they are a constant source of inspiration.

00:11:40.581 --> 00:11:50.042
Their teachings guide us to live in the Brahm Gyana at all times through the highs and lows of life and that's why a Satguru is very necessary.

00:11:50.586 --> 00:11:57.126
See, the Satguru has two roles for us, and it depends truly on where we are as seekers.

00:11:57.277 --> 00:12:03.407
So I will explain the two different types of seekers, and this is more like an evolutionary process.

00:12:03.576 --> 00:12:06.626
The aim is to reach for the highest in spirituality.

00:12:06.626 --> 00:12:10.828
So the first type of seeker is the is one that is starting on the journey.

00:12:10.828 --> 00:12:15.917
So, the Satguru's discourses will help us to inquire within.

00:12:16.157 --> 00:12:24.636
You know, we'll have some self introspection on how to deal with our conditionings, deep desires, or our emotions, and then with our thoughts as well.

00:12:25.407 --> 00:12:30.006
It helps us define a lifestyle that cares and empathises with humanity.

00:12:30.807 --> 00:12:40.111
The teachings of practising good karma, yet rising above the fruits of those actions, the Satguru helps us establish a connection with the Formless.

00:12:40.432 --> 00:12:46.932
We worship God through his attributes and the Satguru, and have strong devotion towards them.

00:12:47.381 --> 00:12:52.182
Even though there is duality here, this is still a very important step in the journey.

00:12:52.461 --> 00:12:56.736
So the Satguru is mainly a guide here in the first type of seeker.

00:12:57.096 --> 00:13:02.366
The second type of seeker is one that has done everything the first type of seeker has done.

00:13:02.595 --> 00:13:07.835
They are also able to renounce their desires and the fruits of their actions very easily.

00:13:08.664 --> 00:13:13.825
They are able to understand clearly what is unreal by nature and what is real by nature.

00:13:14.154 --> 00:13:18.605
That which is real is transient and is subject to decay and death.

00:13:18.995 --> 00:13:22.534
That which is real is permanent and is eternal and free.

00:13:23.014 --> 00:13:32.024
They have freed themselves from the senses and the mind is stilled through silent contemplation of the Formless, or that is called Anhadh Shabad.

00:13:32.580 --> 00:13:36.309
Actions are done that causes the least amount of suffering.

00:13:36.710 --> 00:13:42.330
The seeker ultimately desires freedom whilst they're alive and therefore duality doesn't make any sense.

00:13:42.659 --> 00:13:45.919
The intellect finds this dualistic thinking to be binding.

00:13:46.330 --> 00:13:53.929
Doubts are exhausted through proper reasoning and logic and this intense desire for liberation starts brewing.

00:13:54.480 --> 00:14:08.639
Then that seeker is ready for Brahm Gyana and once the Satguru reveals Through the process of Neti Neti, the process of not this and not this, one directly sees one's true nature as the Formless.

00:14:09.139 --> 00:14:14.259
One is to remain aware of being Nirankar or Formless Consciousness.

00:14:14.610 --> 00:14:19.450
This may seem dualistic that one is becoming something but there is no difference.

00:14:19.669 --> 00:14:27.774
The body, mind, intellect are tools and are born from Consciousness itself and without Consciousness, we cannot experience this body and mind.

00:14:28.205 --> 00:14:41.335
The Satguru, through a careful and precise inquiry, allows the seeker to surrender the dualism of the ego, and then enter the Nondual Formless Consciousness that shines forth as one's true nature.

00:14:41.835 --> 00:14:46.524
Then only Nirankar remains as existence consciousness bliss, or Satchitananda.

00:14:48.054 --> 00:14:55.789
Then the seeker is liberated whilst alive, they are a Jivan Mukta, or referred to as a Brahm Gyani.

00:14:56.230 --> 00:15:03.320
As it is said in the Sukhmani Sahib, Brahm Gyani Aap Nirankar, the Brahm Gyani is Nirankar itself.

00:15:03.710 --> 00:15:12.035
This is the second role that the Satguru has that leads to the oneness between the Disciple, Satguru and Nirankar.

00:15:12.086 --> 00:15:15.355
What does the state of that Brahm Gyani or seeker look like?

00:15:15.355 --> 00:15:16.166
The second type.

00:15:16.826 --> 00:15:20.635
The example of the blank screen that shows a movie is apt here.

00:15:20.816 --> 00:15:26.755
The blank screen is never impacted by the images on the screen where the love is shown or hatred.

00:15:26.936 --> 00:15:28.706
Whether someone is born or dies.

00:15:28.913 --> 00:15:33.634
The blank screen remains permanent, whilst the images are transient.

00:15:33.844 --> 00:15:38.173
Likewise, consciousness is never impacted by the body mind intellect.

00:15:38.504 --> 00:15:48.144
Only a realized person understands this and uproots all dualistic thinking out and is forever rooted in non duality and oneness.

00:15:48.769 --> 00:15:54.669
As I always say, that it is the Satguru's grace that you have the opportunity to take Brahm Gyana.

00:15:54.690 --> 00:16:04.679
And then it is the Satguru's blessings that you are enlightened by the Brahm Gyana through realising that you are this one Nirankar, this one Formless Consciousness.

00:16:05.460 --> 00:16:06.679
You are a Jivan Mukta.

00:16:07.039 --> 00:16:14.440
This is what is meant when the Rishis proclaimed Aham Brahmasmi or I am Brahman or any other of the Mahavakyas.

00:16:15.679 --> 00:16:22.909
Even today, my Satguru Maharaj is giving many seekers this opportunity for self realization.

00:16:23.250 --> 00:16:29.315
And the great thing is that all you need is to have this deep, inherent desire to know your true self.

00:16:29.715 --> 00:16:39.355
All you have to do is literally go to your local center of oneness, and there are many across in the world, and there will be someone who can give you this Brahm Gyana.

00:16:39.375 --> 00:16:51.164
The Satguru has empowered a number of devotees to give her Brahm Gyana to genuine seekers, which again highlights how the Satguru is one and the same with their disciples.

00:16:51.591 --> 00:16:57.206
From my own experience, this Formless Consciousness is my constant companion in life.

00:16:57.986 --> 00:17:02.486
I live in it, I breathe in it, I meditate in it, I am aware in It.

00:17:02.876 --> 00:17:14.076
The understanding that I am this formless consciousness is crystal clear and all my doubts have been dispelled through careful reasoning, logic, transcendence and surrendering.

00:17:14.507 --> 00:17:18.666
And Advaita Vedanta has been a massive help in this as a philosophy.

00:17:18.819 --> 00:17:32.058
One thing I must also add here, that the many great seekers even in the satsang when I was growing up truly answered my doubts and the scriptures have been great in helping me find the language to what I was experiencing.

00:17:32.479 --> 00:17:45.503
Therefore, the scriptures and Satsang have helped me stay rooted in non duality and I place a lot of importance of maintaining Satsang with Brahm Gyanis and satsang with the scriptures.

00:17:46.284 --> 00:17:49.223
This is very very important and it's helped me a lot.

00:17:49.434 --> 00:17:52.634
The perspective that changes is incredible.

00:17:53.045 --> 00:18:03.875
From a time when I had anger issues, this Brahm Gyana changed that for me because one automatically has this inner peace and bliss at their disposal.

00:18:04.454 --> 00:18:09.634
My anger has reduced significantly and it rarely pops its ugly head to disturb me.

00:18:09.825 --> 00:18:16.315
Instead, I use it as a tool for proper action if necessary, like for social justice causes.

00:18:16.553 --> 00:18:24.932
It has also given me great peace in life because I know that this life, this world is all but temporary and it will go one day.

00:18:26.373 --> 00:18:38.502
So I can be a little detached to everything, but it has also increased my gratitude for those things in my life, like my family, my friends, my material possessions, and anything else that I have in life.

00:18:39.192 --> 00:18:49.032
This detachment allows renunciation to be very possible for me, because I can devote everything to Nirankar, this Formless Consciousness.

00:18:49.093 --> 00:18:53.722
And I have seen Brahm Gyanis do it, and they are my constant source of inspiration.

00:18:54.242 --> 00:18:57.323
This Brahm Gyana has also opened up the space to be humble.

00:18:57.823 --> 00:19:04.923
And I've definitely become aware of how the ego can appear and try to identify with worldly praise or even criticism.

00:19:05.718 --> 00:19:09.857
Even the spiritual ego of I can see God is now easily dismissed.

00:19:10.258 --> 00:19:17.397
The humility to understand that whether someone knows their true nature or they do not, they are still one and the same as me.

00:19:17.958 --> 00:19:23.698
In this great tapestry of eternal life, one day all living beings will be realised.

00:19:24.137 --> 00:19:30.627
In fact, they are already realised, they may just not know it yet and when the time is right, they will.

00:19:30.978 --> 00:19:38.123
I do not need to be arrogant about my spiritual knowledge or even my worldly possessions.

00:19:38.451 --> 00:19:55.580
I also don't have to do any special rituals or specific spiritual practices anymore because once you understand that you are this Formless Consciousness, the rest of the time can be spent on worship, silent contemplation, reading the scriptures and mindful remembrance.

00:19:56.000 --> 00:19:58.550
You can entertain what appears to be dualistic.

00:19:59.381 --> 00:20:01.161
But it is a non dual practice for you.

00:20:01.191 --> 00:20:16.371
For example, you can worship the form of the Satguru, and although from the outside people think you're worshipping the form, but you as a Brahm Gyani, as a seeker, know that the Satguru is this one Formless Consciousness, which you are.

00:20:16.701 --> 00:20:22.490
So you could say it is the Formless Consciousness worshipping Formless Consciousness itself.

00:20:23.243 --> 00:20:30.703
Whilst the realised see the one in many, but the ignorant only see many and not the one.

00:20:31.186 --> 00:20:41.301
Even though you may be, or I may be referring to 'Tuhi Nirankar' or 'You, Formless' inherently, there is no I nor You here.

00:20:41.721 --> 00:20:48.352
The Satguru removes this biggest misconception once the Brahm Gyana is fully understood and realised.

00:20:48.642 --> 00:20:52.362
You just simply abide in this Formless Consciousness.

00:20:53.301 --> 00:21:07.586
Most of all, there is a deep reverence for every living being as they are all your own being and this is a vision that the Satguru gives as a natural by product of realization and enlightenment.

00:21:07.977 --> 00:21:17.406
So in essence, what appears to be maya is none other than the formless's own being and this is what oneness is really about.

00:21:17.640 --> 00:21:21.880
There are a few ways to integrate and apply these teachings in your daily life.

00:21:22.670 --> 00:21:28.890
Growing up I was guided to live by five principles and I'm going to share them with you right now.

00:21:29.750 --> 00:21:36.450
One is to understand that this body and mind is not yours and it is not you.

00:21:36.839 --> 00:21:38.450
Do not identify with them.

00:21:39.079 --> 00:21:47.650
The material possessions belong to this world where it has originated from and this world is none other than God's own being or Isvara.

00:21:47.670 --> 00:21:52.680
Therefore remain focused on your true nature as Formless Consciousness.

00:21:53.890 --> 00:22:07.565
Second Is that there is no need to be proud of your caste, or social standing in society, or the colour of your skin, your nationality, your religion, or any other divisions that are enforced by narrow mindedness.

00:22:08.404 --> 00:22:14.694
We are to be inclusive towards all and understand the need for equity and fairness.

00:22:15.125 --> 00:22:22.394
You just surrender every form and label of identity that is not Formless Consciousness in its purest state.

00:22:23.377 --> 00:22:30.545
Third, is that there is absolutely no need to hate or ridicule someone based on their lifestyle.

00:22:30.815 --> 00:22:41.025
Their lifestyle may be determined by various factors like geographical location, a nation's history, the culture today, or even biological reasons.

00:22:41.275 --> 00:22:44.757
Therefore, just be loving and compassionate to all.

00:22:45.256 --> 00:22:49.122
Fourth is to live in the world as a responsible citizen.

00:22:49.301 --> 00:22:56.261
There's no need to escape life to be in the jungle alone for enlightenment or in the concrete buildings for wealth.

00:22:56.701 --> 00:23:09.771
If you have a family, be a good parent, a good child, a good friend, a good spouse, help those who are condemned in society, uplift them, and pay your fair share of taxes.

00:23:10.332 --> 00:23:15.142
This is the responsibility of living in a strong and tight knit community.

00:23:15.602 --> 00:23:23.342
The fifth is an interesting one, but it is to not share this Brahm Gyana with anyone unless you've been given permission by the Satguru.

00:23:24.332 --> 00:23:33.123
The main reasons for this is that one must be first in constant awareness of Nirankar themselves and until then practice is needed.

00:23:33.583 --> 00:23:43.481
Unless you know that Nirankar is the Absolute Reality, one will always be in dualistic thinking, which is not the experience of the Brahm Gyani, as we know from the scriptures.

00:23:43.951 --> 00:23:51.041
Although many may say they want to know God, but in actual fact, they may not be ready, and they need to be prepared for that wisdom.

00:23:51.442 --> 00:23:59.932
Most of all, this Brahm Gyana is the Satguru's, therefore, as a disciple, I must respect that this sacred knowledge is not mine to share.

00:24:00.291 --> 00:24:03.551
This really helps us keep the ego also at bay.

00:24:04.011 --> 00:24:06.797
But again, this Brahm Gyana is an open secret.

00:24:06.819 --> 00:24:11.000
Once it is pointed out, you simply cannot stop seeing it.

00:24:11.196 --> 00:24:19.727
Following these principles, we need to experience this formless in every moment of our lives, until it is a perpetual awareness.

00:24:20.027 --> 00:24:25.707
As Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji once told me, that you must be aware of Nirankar 24x7.

00:24:26.406 --> 00:24:35.656
This one instruction, when I was 24 years old, is what transformed my whole spiritual life and my spiritual life is centred around that one advice.

00:24:35.656 --> 00:24:47.217
An exercise I've done to help me, is that before I label something like a tree, or an animal, or a flower, I see it as Nirankar first, as the Formless first, and then I label it.

00:24:47.636 --> 00:24:55.146
So say that I see a flower in front of me, before I label it as a sunflower, I see Nirankar first, then I say it's a sunflower.

00:24:55.636 --> 00:25:02.817
This way I remember the underlying essence of everything, which is the Formless and this is what mindful remembrance is all about.

00:25:03.497 --> 00:25:08.376
The mind literally becomes full of Nirankar, this formless consciousness.

00:25:08.740 --> 00:25:14.380
When I serve my family or friends, I must do it with a feeling of selflessness and love.

00:25:14.914 --> 00:25:28.944
I'm not there to do it for personal gain or favour, this act of Seva as it is said in Sanskrit is one that keeps the ego at bay as well, as we put others first and their priorities before ours.

00:25:29.482 --> 00:25:35.238
Most of all, attending satsang and being a good disciple of my Satguru is important for me.

00:25:35.958 --> 00:25:49.407
I must have the attitude of continuous learning to remain liberated from the shackles of ignorance, or at least to reduce my ignorance and allow this Brahm Gyana to be the very foundation of my life.

00:25:50.038 --> 00:25:56.178
In the end, this Nirankar, this Formless Consciousness is the foundation of my life.

00:25:56.178 --> 00:26:04.633
One thing to always remember that growing up in the Sant Nirankari Mission has been a blessing because of the Brahm Gyana.

00:26:05.772 --> 00:26:11.982
Having access to such subtle, yet the highest wisdom, I find myself extremely fortunate.

00:26:12.792 --> 00:26:24.107
The added bonus of having Nirankar, Formless Consciousness directly experienced is just the icing on the cake and I have a lot of gratitude for the Mission for this one reason.

00:26:24.476 --> 00:26:37.752
The teachings that I've grown up with have all been centred around the Brahm Gyana and the insights into the formless is my daily spiritual practice now and it's one that I find incredible joy and bliss in.

00:26:38.863 --> 00:26:54.061
Until one completely understands that the body, mind, intellect is not what they are then the jiva is free to understand that it has always been this Nirankar, it will always be this Formless Consciousness and nothing else.

00:26:54.336 --> 00:27:03.643
In the end, I do encourage you to take this Brahm Gyana if you have this desire to know your true nature, to know this Brahman, this Nirankar, this Formless Consciousness.

00:27:04.012 --> 00:27:12.063
I shall end with something that my late Uncle always used to say to me, and this may be why I have so much love and affection for this Brahm Gyana.

00:27:12.492 --> 00:27:19.583
He used to quote our Satguru and say that, if God is knowledge, then why not have it?

00:27:22.167 --> 00:27:28.627
Let me know if there is any feedback you would like to share or any questions for future episodes.

00:27:38.361 --> 00:27:40.290
Thank you very much for listening.

00:27:40.601 --> 00:27:42.131
Take care.

00:27:42.131 --> 00:27:43.092
Namaste.
