00:00:54.768 --> 00:00:59.148
In the last episode, we looked at chapter four verses 24 to 29.
00:00:59.149 --> 00:01:05.707
Sri Krishna instructs us to be completely one in Brahman and to offer all actions to Brahman.
00:01:05.844 --> 00:01:10.022
Sri Krishna highlights two differences between spiritual aspirants.
00:01:10.263 --> 00:01:16.670
Some do it to please the devas, some offer their mind to the Ultimate Reality.
00:01:16.802 --> 00:01:18.873
The choice is with us, what we want to do.
00:01:18.936 --> 00:01:22.197
Sri Krishna gives us two options on how to deal with the senses.
00:01:22.466 --> 00:01:28.436
One is to eliminate any information perceived from the senses before they reach the mind.
00:01:28.706 --> 00:01:44.537
The other is to let the senses give the information to the mind and the mind burns its effects by offering everything to Brahman, both paths lead to the purification of the mind, which makes us ready for liberation.
00:01:44.597 --> 00:01:50.412
Also, there is a process through thorough negation, through neti neti, we can reach Brahman.
00:01:50.451 --> 00:01:52.402
So we can give up different things.
00:01:52.406 --> 00:02:00.621
Take up certain practices, become monks, some offer their life breath as a sacred offering to Brahman, whichever way we would like to.
00:02:00.891 --> 00:02:02.902
There's always a way towards Brahman.
00:02:02.951 --> 00:02:11.921
There's a way to reach the Ultimate level of awareness, the Ultimate level of reality, and that is available to all of us.
00:02:11.981 --> 00:02:16.008
Today we'll be looking at verses 30 to 33.
00:02:16.277 --> 00:02:17.207
Verse 30.
00:02:17.314 --> 00:02:22.895
Still others restrict their intake of food while offering each breath into the next.
00:02:22.997 --> 00:02:34.437
Living directly on Prana, the Universal life force, all these yogic practitioners know and utilize the principles of Yajna to remove the imperfections in their being.
00:02:34.568 --> 00:02:37.534
We'll break it up a little bit so we can understand it.
00:02:37.625 --> 00:02:46.865
Still others restrict their intake of food while offering each breath into the next, living directly on Prana, the universal life force.
00:02:47.022 --> 00:02:49.122
These are certain practices that some do.
00:02:49.122 --> 00:02:58.657
They transcend their attachment to food and decide to just keep their breath in the remembrance of that Ultimate awareness Brahman, that Formless Awareness.
00:02:58.926 --> 00:03:03.129
What it is, you just restrict your intake and it's actually a really good practice.
00:03:03.317 --> 00:03:07.306
They say that in Japan, what they do is they don't get completely full.
00:03:07.576 --> 00:03:10.997
They get three quarters full and then just stop eating.
00:03:11.024 --> 00:03:13.568
This is actually a good practice, when you think about it.
00:03:13.656 --> 00:03:20.272
Generally, when we look at intaking food, if we like the taste, we fill ourselves to the point where we would vomit.
00:03:20.292 --> 00:03:24.151
It's very important that we look to restrict our intake of food.
00:03:24.287 --> 00:03:30.340
In general, it's good for our health, but you know, obviously consult your doctor before following my advice.
00:03:30.590 --> 00:03:33.710
But it's just good to have that less attachment.
00:03:33.742 --> 00:03:39.389
Normally what we do is we get attached to a particular food and we must have it each and every day.
00:03:39.425 --> 00:03:43.638
But to be honest, if it's not gonna do our body any good, is it worth it?
00:03:43.661 --> 00:03:46.841
What we need to do is lessen our attachment to food.
00:03:47.181 --> 00:04:02.270
What we can do is whenever we feel hungry or whenever we feel a disturbance in the mind, or whenever we want to just offer some gratitude to existence, what we can do is observe the breath and remember that Formless Awareness.
00:04:02.270 --> 00:04:15.330
Remember that Nirguna Brahman and just by remembering is our gratitude, remembering is our prayer remembering is our connection, remembering is our becoming and being Brahman Itself.
00:04:15.665 --> 00:04:22.175
So their individual life force, which is their prana is poured into the universal life force.
00:04:22.225 --> 00:04:29.185
The way to see that is when you're breathing in, you could say that you're breathing in that expansive, vast Brahman.
00:04:29.526 --> 00:04:37.800
You're breathing that in and you're filling your whole body and mind with the presence of that everlasting eternal, infinite Brahman.
00:04:38.071 --> 00:04:42.420
And then what you're doing is you're breathing that out into existence.
00:04:42.420 --> 00:04:50.624
So whatever individuality you have, whatever remnants of the ego you have, you can just put that into the vastness of Brahman.
00:04:50.894 --> 00:05:00.524
And what happens there is you are getting from the individual to the universal, and this is a great way to practice meditation in general.
00:05:00.793 --> 00:05:09.793
The next part is all these Yogic practitioners know and utilize the principles of Yajna to remove the imperfections in their being.
00:05:10.064 --> 00:05:18.497
So by offering everything you have as a sacred offering to Brahman, we purify our mind because we think of Brahman all the time.
00:05:18.706 --> 00:05:20.836
That's the whole point thinking of Brahman.
00:05:20.836 --> 00:05:23.026
That is our sacred offering.
00:05:23.326 --> 00:05:24.406
Why not do that?
00:05:24.406 --> 00:05:34.026
So when we offer everything we do, when we are about to eat a meal, when we're about to walk or while we are walking, when we are listening to something, when we're drinking something.
00:05:34.026 --> 00:06:00.415
We can do everything as an offering to Brahman, that way we purify our mind because we're constantly thinking of that universal life force, that universal Brahman and therefore we're constantly removing any negative thoughts, negative reactions and we're constantly going to be thinking about positive results or we have an outlook which will seek better outcomes than worse outcome.
00:06:00.685 --> 00:06:04.795
By utilizing this way of Yajna, our mind concentrates on Brahman.
00:06:04.824 --> 00:06:07.521
It's very important that we concentrate on Brahman.
00:06:07.855 --> 00:06:10.045
We keep all our attention on Brahman.
00:06:10.285 --> 00:06:12.845
This Ultimate, formless Awareness.
00:06:13.069 --> 00:06:19.220
The more we keep the awareness in the background while we are conducting our life, the better.
00:06:19.266 --> 00:06:33.637
And when we are sitting during meditation, when we can bring that Formless Awareness to the forefront, even better because you know what, the more we bring it to the forefront, the more we perceive it in everything, the more our senses are cleansed.
00:06:33.906 --> 00:06:35.473
And that's the whole point.
00:06:35.744 --> 00:06:38.774
Everything that is done must have a divine purpose.
00:06:38.870 --> 00:06:44.660
Whatever action you do, whatever thought you think of will have a divine purpose behind it.
00:06:44.704 --> 00:06:47.839
Automatically, it will start thinking of a divine purpose.
00:06:48.050 --> 00:06:50.240
It will think of a way to be more divine.
00:06:50.463 --> 00:06:57.204
Everything we do will have some aspect of divinity in it because we are constantly thinking of Brahman.
00:06:57.303 --> 00:07:07.451
This is how we can give life true meaning and it's the true art of living is living in the state of Brahman, functioning as Brahman, being Brahman.
00:07:07.557 --> 00:07:18.562
While we are talking about this on the podcast, if you've been on the journey here while we've been listening and learning about the Bhagavad Gita, what I've noticed within my own self.
00:07:18.802 --> 00:07:24.283
And I'm sure you've noticed this with your own self too, is that we are growing in our understanding.
00:07:24.283 --> 00:07:27.095
We are growing in our attention.
00:07:27.151 --> 00:07:29.925
We are growing in our focus with Brahman.
00:07:30.105 --> 00:07:39.886
We are constantly in the remembrance of Brahman, constantly thinking of Brahman, bringing Brahman to the forefront and therefore this is the true art of living.
00:07:40.065 --> 00:07:42.526
Nothing bothers us as much as it used to.
00:07:42.795 --> 00:07:46.906
We don't get angry as soon as something irritates us.
00:07:47.175 --> 00:07:48.975
We are more calm.
00:07:49.007 --> 00:07:51.427
We are more centered in ourselves.
00:07:51.726 --> 00:07:54.786
We're more silent in terms of our thoughts.
00:07:54.836 --> 00:07:56.966
That's the whole purpose behind it.
00:07:57.297 --> 00:07:59.694
That's where we get true meaning towards life.
00:07:59.694 --> 00:08:07.226
We see beauty in the things that once we found ugliness in, and this is what happens when we purify our mind.
00:08:07.226 --> 00:08:26.644
Our mind before was viewing things through ignorance, now views things through the state of Brahman, that Formless Awareness in the background and that Formless Awareness only has lens of beauty, of love, of compassion, of silence of that fragrant stillness.
00:08:26.913 --> 00:08:30.613
That is the way we start living.
00:08:30.661 --> 00:08:36.572
When we function in such a way, no karma is created from such actions.
00:08:36.851 --> 00:08:48.499
The context of the whole verse is dedicate everything to Brahman as a sacred offering, as this will keep the mind focused on worship and a natural worship, not something you have to just cultivate.
00:08:48.828 --> 00:08:59.672
It's something that is naturally done, and this creates selfless acts and no reactions from karma will have its effect upon you and that is the promise.
00:08:59.942 --> 00:09:01.221
Verse 31.
00:09:01.491 --> 00:09:13.072
Those who only consume that, which has first been offered to the devas eat amrita'the nectar of immortality' and thereby enter into the timeless realm of Brahman.
00:09:13.341 --> 00:09:24.422
Oh, Arjuna even here on Bhumi Loka 'mother earth', no one can achieve material success without performing Yajna and cooperating with the laws of nature.
00:09:24.481 --> 00:09:27.841
What to speak of attaining the Ultimate destination.
00:09:27.904 --> 00:09:31.264
A lot to dissect here, but let's go through each part.
00:09:31.317 --> 00:09:42.893
Those who only consume that, which has first been offered to the Devas eat amrita'the nectar of immortality' and thereby enter into the timeless realm of Brahman.
00:09:43.163 --> 00:09:48.629
Whatever we offer to the devas, whatever we are about to consume, we offer it to the devas.
00:09:48.769 --> 00:09:52.609
It doesn't have to be physical, but it can be a mental practice.
00:09:52.708 --> 00:09:58.568
Even if you do it mentally, within that is still good enough, that is offering it to the devas.
00:09:58.839 --> 00:10:07.576
Offering everything to the world within your own mind is absolutely good enough such people because they see all as one and their own.
00:10:07.576 --> 00:10:15.495
They see everything as the shared being, seeing all as devas, they take amrita, they take that nectar of immortality.
00:10:15.765 --> 00:10:18.485
Amrita is that nectar of immortality.
00:10:18.755 --> 00:10:31.076
And it is the drink of eternity, the whole of existence will end up looking after you because now you are immortal, it will look to provide you with everything necessary.
00:10:31.346 --> 00:10:38.816
Therefore, we enter the timeless realm of Brahman, and that is because it is about becoming Brahman itself.
00:10:39.086 --> 00:10:40.666
And that's what we need to do.
00:10:40.936 --> 00:10:43.833
That timeless realm means immortality.
00:10:44.104 --> 00:10:47.913
If it's timeless, it means that there is no time and space here.
00:10:48.183 --> 00:10:52.413
And when there's no time and space, we know that this is an eternal realm.
00:10:52.683 --> 00:10:55.354
This is a realm we are constantly going to be in.
00:10:55.384 --> 00:11:01.285
And if you think about it, our awareness is that direct understanding of that timeless realm.
00:11:01.303 --> 00:11:10.239
When we are in that Formless Awareness, when we understand that is our true nature, we understand that we are always in the timeless realm of Brahman.
00:11:10.312 --> 00:11:13.729
This is the beauty and joy of this practice.
00:11:13.999 --> 00:11:22.808
After we've offered anything to Brahman or offered anything to the devas, and we offer it mentally, and then we consume it ourselves.
00:11:23.078 --> 00:11:26.759
That will be amrita, that will be the nectar of immortality.
00:11:27.028 --> 00:11:40.232
oh Arjuna, even here on Bhumi Loka 'Mother Earth', no one can achieve material success without performing Yajna and cooperating with the laws of nature.
00:11:40.503 --> 00:11:43.650
What to speak of attaining the Ultimate destination.
00:11:43.673 --> 00:11:45.883
You always have to give back to this Earth.
00:11:46.202 --> 00:11:46.972
We must do.
00:11:47.033 --> 00:11:51.178
We must look after the planet and it's the sustenance of our existence.
00:11:51.399 --> 00:11:54.879
Therefore looking after the planet is a natural thing to do.
00:11:55.149 --> 00:12:02.078
We shouldn't be thinking about just taking things as we've learned throughout the Bhagavad Gita, but we have to also give back.
00:12:02.349 --> 00:12:10.053
Even if we do an offering just to our close family, it will be not the same as cooperating with the laws of nature.
00:12:10.293 --> 00:12:14.014
So it's very important that we do cooperate with the laws of nature.
00:12:14.283 --> 00:12:18.788
We also look to cooperate with the laws of the land as well.
00:12:18.839 --> 00:12:24.634
And we look to look after everybody because everyone and everything is part of nature.
00:12:24.854 --> 00:12:27.374
We become more conscious of our actions.
00:12:27.379 --> 00:12:36.197
We become more conscious of the things that we do, the things that we consume as a natural byproduct of cooperating with nature.
00:12:36.197 --> 00:12:52.998
So not just to offer things to our family and look out for our family, for posterity, it's important that we also look after nature and cooperate with nature, and we don't go against it because if we go against nature, nature will be against us.
00:12:53.177 --> 00:13:00.104
It's a natural consequence of doing things that are not right for this planet.
00:13:00.374 --> 00:13:07.094
We know from earlier, from studying this, that such selfishness and greed does not have positive effects.
00:13:07.364 --> 00:13:11.847
Inevitably it will create a situation of ultimate destruction.
00:13:12.118 --> 00:13:21.207
Do we look after our planet and make sure that for the future generations, it is a habitable place, it's a place of peace and prosperity.
00:13:21.388 --> 00:13:24.268
Is that what we are going to give to our future generations?
00:13:24.477 --> 00:13:28.168
Or are we going to continue to slander others?
00:13:28.437 --> 00:13:29.998
Take the rights of others.
00:13:30.268 --> 00:13:31.138
Be greedy.
00:13:31.408 --> 00:13:37.878
Be selfish, and make sure that only we consume things and only we get the maximum amount of profits.
00:13:38.087 --> 00:13:39.677
We avoid paying taxes.
00:13:39.977 --> 00:13:44.028
If we continuously do that, that's going to have a negative effect.
00:13:44.177 --> 00:13:48.618
And therefore it's not just your own generation that may suffer.
00:13:48.712 --> 00:13:50.962
But definitely the future generation.
00:13:51.232 --> 00:14:02.038
If you think about it, there have been kingdoms that have fallen in the past, great families that had so much wealth come to poverty in the next generation.
00:14:02.308 --> 00:14:12.230
We have to think more broader and think less of just our own home, but think more larger, think more about society, the community.
00:14:12.500 --> 00:14:13.791
That's how we gotta be.
00:14:14.061 --> 00:14:20.280
And if it means that currently the global economy does not work in that favor.
00:14:20.280 --> 00:14:27.041
If this system does not work for everybody, then we need to think of a way that will work for everybody.
00:14:27.573 --> 00:14:29.734
That's what our aim should be.
00:14:29.943 --> 00:14:36.783
Now, this may sound like a liberal or a Marxist approach, but to be honest, it's a more common sense approach.
00:14:36.965 --> 00:14:39.886
It is one of equity and justice.
00:14:40.157 --> 00:14:48.197
We do have to look out for each other and there's no reason why we should let others be deprived of the things that we have.
00:14:48.466 --> 00:14:54.167
We must look to improve not only our own lives, but the lives of others too.
00:14:54.437 --> 00:15:03.879
Material success is mostly attained, if we perform the sacred offering and look after the planet without doing so success will end eventually, as I mentioned.
00:15:03.947 --> 00:15:06.947
Just to reemphasize that great empires have fallen.
00:15:07.106 --> 00:15:11.576
We shouldn't assume that bad people get good things.
00:15:11.907 --> 00:15:13.826
We have seen invaders.
00:15:13.826 --> 00:15:27.076
We have seen people who have harmed others who have destroyed the lives of others, who has brought pain to other people's lives, who has discriminated negatively against others.
00:15:27.317 --> 00:15:33.772
We have seen that, although it looks like their prosperous at that time, we see their empire fall down.
00:15:33.772 --> 00:15:35.111
We see it get crushed.
00:15:35.341 --> 00:15:46.241
We see people take over, and this is what happens when we watch and observe how tyrants eventually have nothing.
00:15:46.511 --> 00:16:02.328
We see autocratic, leaderships come crashing down and it's inevitable because when you go against the nature of human beings, when you put them under such great distress, the majority will rise up.
00:16:02.599 --> 00:16:03.509
It's inevitable.
00:16:03.586 --> 00:16:08.086
Right now, my assumption is that the economy will crash.
00:16:08.145 --> 00:16:16.515
And when it does crash, most likely it will create a wave of people standing up for their rights.
00:16:16.785 --> 00:16:26.086
Because right now we are seeing that things aren't looking great for the planet, if we continuously are going to go down the path, we're going.
00:16:26.355 --> 00:16:36.436
If we are gonna continue to put a blind eye to corruption, whether on a low level or high level, we will all suffer at the end of the day.
00:16:36.706 --> 00:16:51.162
Either we correct our ways and look to uplift those that are suffering and are in poverty or we have to all face the consequences of not looking after the people that we should be looking after.
00:16:51.432 --> 00:16:55.875
We even see today, rich people have marriages that end up in divorce.
00:16:55.875 --> 00:16:57.645
So money cannot buy happiness.
00:16:57.645 --> 00:16:59.745
Money cannot buy relationships.
00:16:59.849 --> 00:17:01.889
We see friendships fall apart.
00:17:02.158 --> 00:17:05.159
We see half of their money go in an instant.
00:17:05.294 --> 00:17:11.108
We know that money cannot bring happiness, money cannot sustain relationships.
00:17:11.226 --> 00:17:19.578
What does sustain relationships is love, compassion, caring about others, uplifting others, understanding each other.
00:17:19.848 --> 00:17:21.318
And it all begins at home.
00:17:21.588 --> 00:17:27.009
Forget about being a good citizen outside for society, if you're a tyrant at home.
00:17:27.278 --> 00:17:31.388
If you're nice at home, you're naturally gonna be nice in the community.
00:17:31.659 --> 00:17:35.828
If you're loving at home, you're naturally gonna be loving for the community.
00:17:36.098 --> 00:17:42.046
But if we start living a life where we are horrible at home, but nice in society.
00:17:43.800 --> 00:17:49.057
This is what happens when people tend to be spiritual, but they don't practice the teachings at home.
00:17:49.326 --> 00:17:56.047
A number of things happen, one, they may have a nice image outside in society, but the family is not happy.
00:17:56.317 --> 00:18:01.176
If the family is not happy, then it means that the person is a hypocrite.
00:18:01.446 --> 00:18:10.013
When I say the family's not happy, the family's not happy with the person's actions, with the way they're treating people in the home and they're saying one thing and doing another.
00:18:10.045 --> 00:18:14.694
Then what happens is say, if they have children, why would the children be inspired?
00:18:14.964 --> 00:18:17.394
Why would they want to go on the same path?
00:18:17.855 --> 00:18:23.670
A lot of people want their children to be part of the same spiritual path or religion that they're part of.
00:18:23.940 --> 00:18:32.789
But if your actions are totally against what is said in either the scripture or in that place of worship that you go to or in that spiritual community.
00:18:32.817 --> 00:18:42.140
I'm sorry, those children aren't going to stay because they're gonna look at, well if the people in my home cannot be changed, what hope do I have?
00:18:42.410 --> 00:18:44.839
And this is something that everybody has to think of.
00:18:44.839 --> 00:18:50.480
I have to think of, there should not be a moment where my wife should say to me that I'm a hypocrite.
00:18:50.750 --> 00:18:51.859
There's no way.
00:18:52.069 --> 00:18:54.359
No one in my family should turn around and say that.
00:18:54.630 --> 00:19:00.083
If I say something or do something, I should be held accountable for what I say and do.
00:19:00.104 --> 00:19:03.193
Be clear in what you follow and what you don't follow.
00:19:03.463 --> 00:19:12.962
Be open with the community about who you are as a person and what you are so that when it comes to your family life, they understand that you know your imperfections.
00:19:13.113 --> 00:19:17.252
But claiming to be a perfect devotee or disciple is not going to help.
00:19:17.522 --> 00:19:26.432
This tends to happen when we create complicated paths or we start adding rules and really spirituality is about freeing yourself.
00:19:26.702 --> 00:19:33.932
So when we have rules that end up controlling us and controlling our lifestyle, we start to see things go bad from there.
00:19:34.073 --> 00:19:41.160
Really all you need is to be aware of the Formless Awareness and naturally you should become a better person.
00:19:41.430 --> 00:20:00.470
You should naturally get the virtues of compassion, acceptance of others, understanding, love, humility, caring, all those virtues, forgiving others, all those will be part of just being in the Formless Awareness and that's the way to be.
00:20:00.740 --> 00:20:06.950
Taking care of nature, as nature takes care of you, then you can attain the ultimate destination.
00:20:07.220 --> 00:20:08.690
Otherwise, what's the point?
00:20:08.836 --> 00:20:18.826
In fact, what tends to happen if we don't look after the environment or the community or our family, what will end up happening is those things will end up creating conflict within us.
00:20:18.939 --> 00:20:22.298
When we have conflict, how can we think of the Ultimate destination?
00:20:22.568 --> 00:20:23.588
It's impossible.
00:20:23.653 --> 00:20:37.138
Even if you have a palace or you create an empire or you have the largest corporate business in existence, even then you'll be fearing that it could come crashing down.
00:20:37.409 --> 00:20:42.088
So how are you going to think about mukti or liberation or freedom?
00:20:42.358 --> 00:20:43.288
It's impossible.
00:20:43.558 --> 00:20:56.824
The context of the verse here is that Sri Krishna explains that we should only consume that, which we have offered to the devas or what we offer while we think of Brahman.
00:20:57.094 --> 00:21:02.044
Without this material success at the very least is not achieved.
00:21:02.314 --> 00:21:04.213
Yajna is essential.
00:21:04.483 --> 00:21:16.963
. So if we want to achieve material success, not material just as in possessions or wealth, but also happiness and prosperity in the home and community and society.
00:21:17.294 --> 00:21:23.238
We need to at least give a sacred offering to the devas mentally, at least.
00:21:23.508 --> 00:21:27.240
Or offer it to the deva in your own home, which is your family members.
00:21:27.510 --> 00:21:28.681
Verse 32.
00:21:28.951 --> 00:21:36.763
Thus through the many kinds of Yajna, a wide variety of offerings are placed into the mouth of the transcendental Brahman.
00:21:37.034 --> 00:21:39.824
They are all born of various human actions.
00:21:40.153 --> 00:21:48.653
One who understands this will achieve moksha 'freedom from bondage to material existence' through the performance of Yajna.
00:21:48.741 --> 00:21:50.001
Let's look at the first part.
00:21:50.251 --> 00:21:57.987
Thus through the many kinds of Yajna, a wide variety of offerings are placed into the mouth of the transcendental Brahman.
00:21:58.026 --> 00:22:02.816
So much is offered into this eternal Brahman, this transcendental Lord.
00:22:03.086 --> 00:22:05.135
What can be offered is aplenty.
00:22:05.246 --> 00:22:21.250
Your breath, your food, drink, your feelings, through devotional worship, your thoughts, your possessions, like money, property, possessions, all those can be offered to Brahman at least mentally, you don't have to offer it physically, but psychologically you can do so.
00:22:21.386 --> 00:22:25.374
This is because all is from Brahman and all will go back to Brahman.
00:22:25.703 --> 00:22:34.240
Nothing is going to remain with this body here or with this mind, it will end up being transcended one way or another.
00:22:34.480 --> 00:22:36.941
Whether through death or through liberation.
00:22:37.211 --> 00:22:46.151
Liberation is a path that we choose to take, death is a path that we ultimately will take regardless of our choices.
00:22:46.273 --> 00:22:50.817
The second part is they are all born of various human actions.
00:22:50.861 --> 00:22:59.846
One who understands this will achieve moksha 'freedom from bondage to material existence', through the performance of Yajna.
00:22:59.965 --> 00:23:03.855
So our actions have caused all these things to be considered as mine.
00:23:03.895 --> 00:23:07.300
When we do something, we go to work and earn money, therefore it's mine.
00:23:07.330 --> 00:23:09.490
I go to the shop and I buy this.
00:23:09.520 --> 00:23:10.300
This is mine.
00:23:10.376 --> 00:23:12.739
I procreate, this is my child.
00:23:12.769 --> 00:23:14.979
I marry, this is my spouse.
00:23:15.002 --> 00:23:21.586
Our actions are what causes us to consider things as mine, or this is my property or my thing.
00:23:21.628 --> 00:23:29.088
By understanding this beautiful practice of Yajna, we will achieve mukti, which is liberation from all that is seen.
00:23:29.157 --> 00:23:36.506
So what we can do is understand that everything is born from our human actions.
00:23:36.506 --> 00:23:44.096
Therefore, if we offer our actions to Brahman, we will naturally be free from its reactions.
00:23:44.242 --> 00:23:49.032
So by offering everything to the Lord, we are left alone with ourself and the Lord.
00:23:49.303 --> 00:23:53.448
And if we give up the Lord too, the concept and ideal.
00:23:53.452 --> 00:23:55.313
What is left is your own self.
00:23:55.583 --> 00:23:58.673
You will discover that this is Brahman itself.
00:23:58.700 --> 00:24:08.569
A very interesting idea, but basically if you offer everything to Brahman, then you get rid of the notion that you're giving something to an external deity.
